How to Print a Document

🖨️ How to Print a Document (Quick Guide)
✅ On a Windows Laptop/PC

  1. Open the document (Word, PDF, image, etc.).

  2. Press Ctrl + P (shortcut)
    OR click File → Print.

  3. Choose your printer from the list.

  4. Select number of copies or other settings (colour/B&W, pages).

  5. Click Print.

✅ On a Mac (Apple computer)

  1. Open the document.

  2. Press Command (⌘) + P
    OR click File → Print.

  3. Select your printer.

  4. Adjust settings if needed.

  5. Click Print.

✅ On an iPhone / iPad

  1. Open the document (in Files, Mail, Safari, Photos, etc.).

  2. Tap the Share icon (square with arrow).

  3. Scroll down → tap Print.

  4. Pick your printer (must be AirPrint-enabled).

  5. Tap Print (top-right).

✅ On an Android Phone

  1. Open the document (Google Drive, Gmail, Photos, etc.).

  2. Tap the three dots or Share.

  3. Select Print.

  4. Choose your printer (Wi-Fi printer).

  5. Tap the Print button.

🖨️ Common Reasons Printing Doesn’t Work

  • Printer not connected (USB or Wi-Fi)

  • Wrong printer selected

  • Printer has no paper

  • Ink/toner is low

  • Printer offline or needs to be turned on

How to Scan a QR Code

📱 How to Scan a QR Code (Quick Guide)

✅ On an iPhone

  • Open the Camera app.

  • Point the camera at the QR code.

  • Wait for a banner to appear at the top.

  • Tap the banner to open the link or content.

✅ On an Android Phone

  • Open the Camera app.

  • Point it at the QR code.

  • Tap the pop-up/link that appears.

  • If nothing happens:

    • Open Google Lens and scan the code.

✅ Using Google Lens (Any Phone)

  • Open the Google Lens app (or Lens in Google app).

  • Point at the QR code or select a photo with a QR code.

  • Tap the detected link or action.

✅ On a Computer / Laptop

  • Use your phone to scan the QR code shown on the screen

How to Register for Foireann

Join Foireann

Foireann

  • The official GAA membership system

  • You use it to register, pay membership, and be insured

  • Required to play, coach, or volunteer.

​

  • Foireann = registration & insurance

  • Tobar = training & courses

✅ How to Register for a Foireann Account
1. Go to the Website

​

2. Click “Register”

  • On the login page, select Register (usually under the login boxes).

​

3. Enter Your Details
Fill in:

  • Email address

  • New password

  • Your name

  • Date of birth

Then click Create Account.


4. Verify Your Email

  • Foireann will send you an email.

  • Open it and click the verification link to activate your account.​

✅ 5. Log In and Complete Your Profile
Once verified:

  1. Log in at foireann.ie

  2. Go to Profile

  3. Fill in your:

    • Address

    • Club(s)

    • Emergency contacts (optional)

​

6. Join Your Club (if not already linked)

  • In your profile, select Add Club

  • Choose your county and club

  • Save.

That’s it — your Foireann account is fully set up.

How to Link Families on  Foireann

✅ 1.  How to Link Family Members on Foireann
Step-by-step

  1. Log in to foireann.ie.

  2. Go to “Family” in the left-hand menu.

  3. Click “Add Child/Dependent.”

  4. Enter their name, DOB, and details.

  5. If they already have an account, you can send a request to link.

  6. Save.

This allows you to:

  • Register children for teams

  • Complete their vetting (if aged 16–18)

  • Sign them up for Féile, Cúl Camps, memberships, etc.

✅ 2. How to Join a Team on Foireann
You can join a team in one of two ways:
A. Club Adds You to a Team (most common)

  1. Make sure your club is added in your Profile.

  2. Your Club Administrator / Coach adds you to your team.

  3. The team will then appear automatically in your Foireann account.

B. Request to Join a Team

  1. Log in.

  2. Go to Teams.

  3. Click “Request to Join” or contact the club’s admin/coach.

Team membership must be approved by the club — you can’t add yourself directly.

How to Sign up to Tobar

  • The GAA online training site

  • Used for coaching & safeguarding courses

  • Required for coaches and many volunteers

  • Tobar = training & courses

✅ How to Sign Up to Tobar

  1. Open your web browser and go to learning.gaa.ie. 

  2. Click on “Register” (or “Create Account”). Tobar

  3. Fill in the required details — e‑mail address, name, date of birth, password, etc. 

  4. Verify your e‑mail if prompted (you may get a confirmation email).

  5. Once registered, log in to your new Tobar account.

After You Sign Up:
         What to Do Next

  • Use Tobar to view and enrol in courses — e.g. coaching courses, safeguarding, other training. 

  • If you also have a Foireann account — link them so your certificates, courses and qualifications show up in one place. In Tobar there’s a green “Foireann Connect” button for linking.

Join Foireann

How to Sync Foireann to Tobar

1. Log in to Tobar

  1. Go to learning.gaa.ie

  2. Log in with your Tobar account credentials.

2. Access Foireann Connect

  1. Once logged in, click your profile icon (top-right).

  2. Look for “Foireann Connect” — usually a green button.

​

3. Link Your Foireann Account

  1. Click “Connect Account”.

  2. Enter your Foireann login details (email & password).

  3. Authorize Tobar to access your Foireann account.

​

4. Confirm Sync

  • Once connected, your Tobar profile will display:

    • Coaching qualifications

    • Safeguarding courses

    • Other certificates and completed modules from Foireann

  • Any new courses you complete in Tobar can also be reflected in Foireann if the systems are linked.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Make sure your Foireann email matches the email used in Tobar.

  • If the green “Foireann Connect” button doesn’t appear, refresh or try a different browser.

  • Contact your club Children’s Officer or GAA Learning support if you can’t link accounts.

How to Apply for Garda Vetting on Foireann

What do I need to complete my Garda Vetting

✅ How to Apply for Garda Vetting on Foireann
(Assuming you already completed your in-person ID check with your Club Children’s Officer)
Steps

  1. Log in at foireann.ie.

  2. Go to “Qualifications & Vetting.”

  3. Click “Apply to be Vetted.”

  4. Select:

    • Your club

    • Your role (e.g., coach, mentor, helper)

  5. Upload:

    • Your signed ID Validation Form

    • Your photo ID

    • Your proof of address

 
6. Submit — your club must verify it.
7. You will then receive an email from the Garda Vetting Bureau with a link to complete the e-Vetting form.
8. Fill in the online vetting form → submit.
Vetting normally takes a few days to a couple of weeks.

How to Complete Child Safe-Guarding

✅1. Determine if You Need It

  • Required for anyone in a regulated role with children under 18:

    • Coaches, mentors, managers

    • Club volunteers supervising underage players

    • Referees for underage games

  • Even assistants or camp supervisors may need it.

2. Choose the Right Course

  • Safeguarding 1 (Child Protection in Sport Awareness) – mandatory for all regulated roles.

  • Safeguarding 2 – for Club Children’s Officers (after completing Safeguarding 1).

  • Safeguarding 3 – for Designated Liaison Persons (DLP) (after Safeguarding 1).

3. Find a Course

4. Complete the Course

  • Register for the course on Learning GAA.

  • Follow all modules and assessments.

  • You must complete the course in full to receive certification.

5. Keep Your Certificate

  • You’ll get a Safeguarding Certificate valid for 3 years.

  • Renew via refresher course or full course after expiry.

  • Clubs will usually keep a record; you may need it for vetting or coaching.

How to add a Website to your Home-Screen on your Mobile phone

📱 iPhone / iPad (Safari)

  1. Open Safari.

  2. Go to the website you want to add.

  3. Tap the Share icon (square with an arrow up).

  4. Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen.

  5. Edit the name if you want, then tap Add.

You'll now see an app-like icon on your home screen.

🤖 Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Go to the website you want to add.

  3. Tap the ⋮ menu (top right).

  4. Tap Add to Home screen.

  5. Confirm the name, then tap Add → Add automatically.

🤳 Android (Samsung Internet)

  1. Open Samsung Internet.

  2. Visit the website.

  3. Tap the ≡ menu.

  4. Choose Add page to → Home screen.

🌐 Android (Firefox)

  1. Open Firefox.

  2. Open the website.

  3. Tap the ⋮ menu.

  4. Tap Add to Home screen.
